Journal: Oummati Team at Dr Zakir Naik's Talk in PWTC, 7 Oct 2012

Salamun Alaykom,

Dr. Zakir Naik was in Malaysia for the past 2 weeks for his Malaysian Tour 2012. He started off in Johor Bahru, Shah Alam, Kuantan and last Kuala Lumpur. We were fortunate enough to be presence for his last talk in PWTC, Kuala Lumpur yesterday. Alhamdulillah the whole team - Ihsan, Bilal, Mehdi and Arafat was there to listen to his speeches and able to take some pictures as well. We're not able to get closed up photos with him, but it was good enough for us to be able to see him in real life. Except for Bilal - he able to exchange handshakes with Dr. Zakir Naik and also he's able to be in the pictures with the group photos with him. We were grateful to be able to attend to his talk, usually only watch through youtube. Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah.

We arrived at PWTC after Asar somewhere around 5pm Malaysian time. We were there early for distributing our Oummati T-shirts to public. We would like to thank the organizer for allowing us distributing our free T-shirts during the event. We're based at the last booth where the organizer held a sadaqah campaign for Hotel Quran Project. 100 pieces was distributed to the public who attended Dr. Zakir Naik's talk yesterday. Alhamdulillah, we also received a good feedback from the public as they like our design. Alhamdulillah.

Here are some of the pictures from the event yesterday

Journal: Eidul Fitr.

Salamun Alaykom,

This year Eidul Fitr in Malaysia falls on Sunday, 19 August 2012. Most of us spent most of our times with family, which is a very good thing. Some of us were out of town to celebrate Eidul Fitr. Only me & Bilal managed to meet up for awhile on the 1st day of Eid - where we both went to perform Solat Eidul Fitr in the morning together. But Insya Allah we will go for a visit together when everybody is back in town. 3 of us minus Mehdi managed to meet up for a while tonight - but I had to go home early as I was not feeling well. Flu - always knock me out :) but Alhamdulillah it still manageable. Everybody seems enjoying the break to make use most of the time to spend with their family members. This is good - once in a year we manage to have a break after working so hard throughout the year. Alhamdulillah. We hope that everybody had a good time on this year Eidul Fitr and enjoy this meaningful moment with your family members, relatives and friends. Again we would like to wish every Muslims around world and of course to our reader - Eid Mubarak! May Allah bless us all. Ameen.

Journal: 7 August 2012

Salamun Alaykom,

It has been a very tiring day - with work and work and again work. Currently we are still waiting for the incorporation of Ummati Trading Sdn Bhd to be finalized. Yes we had signed the agreement and officially registered the company under SSM Malaysia still there is a process for the incorporation of the company. Insya Allah the process will be done by next week latest by early of September.

As much as we want to get started like right now but we got to be patience. It is not gonna make things any better if we just rush things up so okay we'll take our time. Insya Allah we can start sooner than later.

Well there's must be a reason, Ramadan is a holy month where we Muslim should be more focus on doing ibadah - let say we start to operates by this month maybe it get us distracted with work. Alhamdulillah - we're thankful for everything.

I've mentioned about work at the beginning of this post - that's actually for my other job. Besides Ummati, I'm currently still working in private sector. So once Ummati start to operates I will be doing 2 jobs, Insya Allah. Alhamdulillah.

Currently I'm working on a big event which will take place on early September. That will be like 2 weeks after Eidul Fitr celebration. So I'm kind of stressed up + we got only like 1 week to get things done since on the 3rd week of August everybody will be away for the holiday for Eid. Insya Allah, things will go smoothly.

Another 2 days for the last 10 nights of Ramadan. Times fly very fast. It seems like we just started fasting like yesterday. Masha Allah. I still can remember when I was still young - a day feels like forever. When I was like 6 years of age - my parents got me to do fasting and waiting for Iftar its like forever. And now day past by just like that. Subhanallah.

That reminds me of the words of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW where he said:
"a day like a year, a day like a month, a day like a week, and the rest of his days like your days."

The full Hadith:

Anas reported that the messenger of Allah said: "The hour shall not come until time will be considered short, and a year will appear like a month, a month like a week, a week like a day, a day like an hour and an hour like a flash of fire." (Tirmidhi)

Indeed - the time fly very fast today, we can feel it.

Journal: 4 Aug 2012

Salamun Alaykom,

Alhamdulillah, today was a good day. After few meetings has been cancelled due to work hectic all of us managed to sit down for a meeting. We should have this meeting done on last Thursday then we postponed it to Friday and again we have postponed it.

So tonight after Tarawih four of us meet at our usual 'lepak' spot - Bilal's place. FYI 'lepak' is a Malaysian terms for hang out. Few years ago the word 'lepak' was used to described a group of people wasting times by lepak-ing (hang out) for hours for nothing. The favorite spots for this activity will be at friend's house, gerai (Malaysian tearms for food stalls), and video game arcades. Teenagers & young adults between age of 15 - 35 years were usually involved with this budaya lepak (lepak-ing culture).

But today - lepak are commonly used to described meeting and hang out. It also can be use to described berbincang which means discussing. Malay language is special - every year we always have a new words to describe actions, behaviors or anything. It's a jargon. You can't find most of these Malay jargon in any Malay dictionary nor you could translate it using google translator. Not only that - even a Malay will have a hard time to describe their own Malay-made jargon. Sometime it is impossible for us to explain it regardless in Malay or in any other language. And plus each Malay speaker will have their own dialect and jargon which only can be understood by their native speakers.

For example: That is why in Malaysia today we say our national language is Bahasa Malaysia (Malaysian Language) and in Indonesia who also speaks Malay generally say Bahasa Indonesia as their national language. It is impossible to generalize the Malay language anymore today but of course the roots of the language is still Malay. Although we speak differently but most of the time we still can understand each other - only when we speak slooooowly. lol. Some other country like Brunei - they also have their own dialect and jargon - and in fact they called their language as Bahasa Brunei. It is just that they have yet to make it official, so officially they claimed Bahasa Melayu (Malay language) as their national language although they all speak Bahasa Brunei. Some other minor area such as small province in Singapore (Malay used to be the majority population in Singapore, today the Chinese is the majority group) Philippines, Australia, and Africa who also have Malay speakers over there - they claimed Bahasa Melayu (Malay Language) as their mother tongue. Since they are the minority group in the country there's no point of them to segregate their dialect accordingly. After all it is still Malay.

How is that come about? From my point of view this could happen because Malay Language sounds very formal. Especially when we speak - it was as if we are reading news script. Not only that, Malay - we also import of so many foreign words due to reason of we do not have the right word to described of that particular word. So to avoid any complication and to make it more 'conversable' we started to creates our own jargon and made it as if it has been there for such a long time. Complicated eh? But its fun - you (non Malay speaker) should try to learn. Actually it's not that complicated after all. Bilal and Mehdi started to pick up few words just few months after they arrived here in Malaysia such as Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice), Teh Tarik (Pulled Tea), Teh O Ais (Ice Tea), Ayam goreng (Fried chicken), Roti Canai, Telur (Egg) etc. Oh and Boleh (Can), Tak Boleh (Cannot). Well, that's all they know so far and that is because they used these words to order their food from restaurant. Haha! But its good - practice makes perfect, right? They stilling picking up new words from me and Ihsan. lol.

Ok enough of that.

Back to the story, at Bilal's place there we discussed on our projects and 'what next' of our long lists. So when I said we 'lepak' it doesn't mean that we were wasting our time for nothing .. ok  we did ended up battling FIFA on PS3 but that only happen when we have done with our discussion and was about to go home. So technically we don't waste time. For the record - I beat the self-proclaimed Master FIFA Bilal...and of course he beat me too (that's because I give him face - you don't want the owner of the house got upset with you) Haha. I joke. He's actually a good player, very hard to beat. But I love challenges so I beat him although most of the time I was on the losing side. And his son can play too. Just like father like son.

Well - on top of that, during the meeting Bilal, Mehdi, Ihsan and I have signed on the agreement - acting as the directors of Ummati Trading Sdn Bhd. Ihsan got the papers from our company secretary who we had a meeting appointment on last Friday but we have to cancel it at last minute because everyone was so busy + with Bilal having a problem with his eye. Alhamdulillah, we have signed the papers and now it is just matter of time to officially incorporated Ummati Trading Sdn Bhd as a company. Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah. It was a relieved for us and now we can move on and to put full concentration on our upcoming projects. Although we faced set backs occasionally but it's worth it. All the struggle won't be for nothing. Insya Allah we will do our best in order to achieve the organization missions and objective - to provide halal necessity to Muslim Ummah and to promote da'wah around the globe. Insya Allah.

1st August 2012 @ 1740 Hours

Alhamdulillah, Praise be to Allah - we have received the news that the government has approved our company registration. After 3 weeks we couldn't get an approval from the government for our company name - finally we are officially registered by the name of Ummati Trading Sdn Bhd.

As much as we love the name Oummati, unfortunately we were not allowed to spell it that way for the company registration. The name of Oummati was inspired by the 2 Frenchmen - Bilal and Mehdi also the Co-Founder of Ummati Trading Sdn Bhd which explains how the spelling come about.

Oummati, it will be registered as our brand product under copyright act. Alhamdulillah!

Note from Team Oummati: So Far

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah - we have reached 1087 page view (as at 31 July 2012 @ 2340 hours) so far since we've started this blogsite 2 weeks ago. So far most of our viewers are from America, Malaysia, Pakistan and Russia. We also have viewers from France, South Korea and Germany. Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah. We would like to thank all the readers for visiting our blog and we hope all the information we have published on this site benefits to all our readers.

The establishment of our company is not merely only for business, da'wah is one of our top priorities. We also would like to give an opportunity to every ummah to participate in our mission. That Da'wah is an obligation to every Muslims we hope, we could trigger new ideas to the ummah and encourage them in doing da'wah to mankind regardless wherever they are.

We would like the reader to know that currently our team is quite busy with the registration of our company. Insya Allah this it will be done by this week. As much as we want this blog to be updated from time to time, after all we all are only human beings we can't do anything that is beyond our limits. Verily man is always in loss (Surah Al Asr, Verse 2)

As long as we know our capabilities, we strive for our best. So far we are not able to put up our products yet, and we're still working on it. Trying our best to get it done as soon as possible. With all paper works need to be done, it takes time . . but we believe Insya Allah sooner than later we will be able to introduce our products to public.

Mightee Da'wah Project & Revival of Sunnah campaign will be our first of many projects. We expect to kick start both projects before mid-August 2012, Insya Allah. At the same time we are working on articles to be published from time to time. We are also working on our official website, but since our knowledge in web design is very limited (we need to get help from external party) it caused a little setback. But again Insya Allah it will be ready before year 2013. So far we will be updating all our stories, articles, works, events, and products via this blog.

We welcome your comments, ideas and also critics in order for us to improve. Anybody who would like to contribute i.e articles etc, you're most welcome. The concept of Oummati is simple, we want to connect with the ummah, to grow togetherness and the spirit of ummah. This is why we choose the name Oummati - Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) repeated 3 times 'Ummati, Ummati, Ummati,' calling on his ummah. The name is aligned with our mission and objectives that is to provide solutions, necessity, tools for da'wah and of course building strong networks within the Muslim Ummah.

Again, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal readers for bearing with us. Insya Allah we will keep you updated from time to time with our products, news and articles. Don't forget to suggest us to your family, relatives and friends regardless of their religion. Insya Allah we can lead to them to the route of Islam. We really appreciate your supports and your patience for bearing with us. May Allah make it easy for us to work on His path.

Till then, Salamun Alaykom Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
